Gaming - Casino Games Platform

A famous live dealer gaming provider, sought to revamp their platform and interfaces.

Live Casino Platform & In-Game UI Redesign

Executive Summary

Led the comprehensive UX/UI modernization of a leading live dealer gaming platform (15+ years market presence). By resolving critical legacy issues—including cluttered overlays that blocked game feeds and high-friction betting—the redesign established a mobile-first, immersive experience that increased bet volume and modernized the brand.

Background & Challenge

Context: A legacy live dealer provider needed to revamp their 15-year-old platform covering Baccarat, Roulette, Blackjack, and Sic Bo.
The Problem: The "Old Baccarat" interface prioritized data grids over the live video, causing visual clutter and blocking the immersive dealer experience.
The Goal: Shift from a "data-heavy" legacy tool to a "video-first" immersive entertainment experience.

Project Scope

- My Role: Lead UX/UI Designer (Lobby + In-Game Interfaces)
- Games Redesigned: Baccarat, Roulette, Blackjack, Sic Bo, Dragon Tiger
- Tools: Figma (Prototyping & Design System)
- Deliverables: High-fidelity UI, Mobile Design System, Interactive Prototypes

New UI

UX Audit & Research Findings

Analysis of the legacy platform (see "Old Baccarat" screenshots) & by competitive analysis revealed 4 critical friction points:

Video Obstruction
Large history grids blocked 40% of the dealer stream
→ Reduced trust & immersion
Slow Betting
Text-heavy buttons required cognitive effort to scan
→ Missed bets during fast countdowns
Mobile Friction
Tiny touch targets (<30px) on betting grids
→ High error rate ("fat finger" clicks)
Dated Visuals
Flat, low-contrast grey aesthetic
→ Felt "cheap" vs. modern competitors

Design Solutions

1. Immersive "Video-First" Layout

Problem
Legacy UI treated the live feed as secondary to data tables.
Solution

- Expanded live video to full-screen width.
- Moved history grids and roadmaps to collapsible drawers/bottom sheets.
Result:
Players feel "at the table," not looking at a spreadsheet.

2. Visual De-Cluttering (Icons > Text)

Problem
Text labels cluttered the screen.
Solution

Replaced text with universal, high-contrast iconography.
Result:
30% reduction in visual noise; cleaner interface for betting.

3. "Auto Bet" & Speed Optimization

Problem:
Players struggled to repeat complex bets every 20 seconds.
Solution:
Introduced Auto Bet toggle (pre-set amounts/patterns).
Result:
Eliminated repetitive clicks
, allowing players to focus on the game flow.

4. Mobile Ergonomics (The 72px Rule)

Problem:
Complex Roulette / Sic Bo grids are impossible to tap on phones.
Solution:
- Implemented 72px primary betting targets for accuracy.
- Used 8-point grid spacing to prevent accidental mis-clicks.
Result:
Zero-error betting experience on mobile devices.

Key Improvements

Enhanced lobby and in-game UI with modern aesthetics and intuitive interactions.
Consistent and unified visual style across all games.
Improved navigation, interaction clarity, and responsiveness for both desktop and mobile.

Final Outcome & Results

Visual Transformation:

- Lobby: Shifted from list-view to an immersive card-based gallery (Netflix-style) encouraging exploration.
- In-Game: Reclaimed 40% more screen space for the live video feed.

IMPACT & RESULTS

- Mobile Adoption:
Significant increase in session length due to error-free touch targets.
- Betting Efficiency:
Auto Bet feature reduced repetitive clicks, enabling faster gameplay.
- Brand Perception:
Successfully repositioned from a legacy tool to a "Premium/VIP" entertainment provider.

Key Takeaways:

- Immersion = Revenue: In live casino, the "product" is the dealer video. The UI must get out of the way.
- Accessibility is Critical: Large touch targets aren't just for accessibility; they are for speed and accuracy in gambling.
